We are in a pandemic. As of today, September 22, 2020, we have lost 6,604 Georgians to Covid-19 and 307,339 Georgians have been confirmed to have Covid-19. Our state desperately needs new leadership. The very first question our state government should ask before it makes any decision is this: "Is it in the best interest of our families, neighbors, community and state?" This is where we start.
First, I support fully funding public schools. An investment in public schools in an investment in the future of our community. I oppose private school vouchers. Vouchers syphon funds from public schools into private schools. Quality public education is critical and will benefit everyone in the state. Second, we are in a pandemic and must expand Medicaid! I support access to quality, affordable healthcare while protecting pre-existing conditions. Third, let's fix gerrymandered districts by engaging a non-partisan, independent committee. When gerrymandered districts are eliminated, the voters will select their representatives rather than the representatives selecting their voters.
